CourtLink

Find the court. Find the game.

CourtLink dark and orange app screens with court map and game details

CourtLink is a basketball community app concept for finding courts, joining or hosting pickup games, and tracking practice progress. I focused on making local games easier to discover while keeping the dark, court-inspired interface clear and action-oriented.

01

Overview & my role

I designed the UX concept, wireframes, core flows, and final dark-and-orange interface for map discovery, game details, joining or hosting games, and progress tracking.

02

Problem & context

Pickup basketball is often informal, so players need a simple way to find courts, see active games, and decide whether a game matches their schedule and skill level.

03

Target users & goals

CourtLink is designed for basketball players looking for nearby courts and pickup games, as well as people organizing games who need a clear way to share the details. The main goals are to find a convenient location, understand when a game is happening, and decide whether it fits a player's availability and skill level.

04

Research & insights

The concept centers on a practical question: what does a player need to know before committing to a pickup game? Location, timing, and skill level are the key design assumptions behind the discovery flow. The next step is to test these priorities with players and organizers through interviews and usability testing.

05

Flows & design decisions

The map helps players start with location, game detail screens show practical commitment information, and tracking features support players who want to practice consistently.

06

Wireframes & iterations

The core flow connects map discovery to court and game details, then to joining or hosting a game. The wireframe structure gives location and game information priority, while keeping practice progress separate from the immediate task of finding a game. Further iterations would test whether players can compare games and understand how to join without unnecessary steps.

Reflection & next steps

If I continued the project, I would validate what information players need before joining a game and simplify the stat tracking around the metrics casual players care about most.
